Airplane Park
Why does the airplane aileron tilt down when parked?

Recently when i traveled, i noticed most if not all of the aircraft parked at the gate had the aileron on both wings in the down position??
In what way moisture gathering? Where?
Thanks for the lack of hydraulic pressure answer. Explains lots of things
If the cause is the lack of hydraulic pressure when the plane powers down, why doesn’t the elevators also drop?

It depends on the aircraft. On some aircraft, certain control surfaces may droop under the influence of gravity when hydraulic pressure is not available to maintain them in any other position. In some cases, the droop depends on the exact state of the control surface actuator mechanism (internal friction, etc.) and may not necessarily be the same from one aircraft to another or from one flight to another.

For example, on the 747-400, the inboard ailerons will tend to drop by gravity when hydraulic pressure is not available.
