can you get a ticket for an earlier flight without buying a new one?
so i have a ticket to come home on august 4th, but i want to come home sooner… so i wanted to know if i can trade my ticket in for one on an earlier flight without having to pay a ton of money or purchasing a new one.
help would be greatly appreciated.
People do this all of the time. The cost depends on the type of ticket you purchased originally.
The best thing to do – and you will have to do this eventually, so just do it now – is to call the airline, tell them who you are, and what you want to do. The customer service person will look up your details and will be able to tell you EXACTLY how much it will cost (it almost always does).
There is usually a fee for making the change, and there may be an additional fee that is the difference between the fare you paid originally and the new one, when the new one is higher.
You do not have to buy a new ticket unless the one you have is extremely restrictive and does not permit any changes at all.
