Early Gas
does early shifting on automatic waste gas?

shifting at lower rpms save gas, but does very early shifting (by letting of the pedal) waste more gas? my car wants to shift at 2k rpm. and i let it shift at 1600 rpm, so my feet and pedal at pulsating (letting off to let it shift, pressing down after it shifts). does hauling the car like this waste more gas? source is preferred. thanks
ya, would the constant change in valve opening, actually make it waste more gas? thats what im wondering…

the fuel burned has more to do with the amount of air flowing in the engine then the rpms, the amount of air flowed is directly controlled by the throttle and rpm, but mostly by the throttle.
sometimes it is better to let it rev a little higher and use less throttle, but use your judgment, 1/4 throttle and 5000rpm wont be as fuel efficient as 1/2 throttle and 1500 rpm
