What are the basic things I have to do for a nitro engine tune-up?
I need to rebuild my Traxxas Jato’s TRX 2.5 Racing Engine. I also need to know the things I need and how much. Plz answer. TY!
Ok so here is the deal on the 2.5R, Traxxas has a lifetime core exchange on your motor. All you have to do is either, buy a new motor from Traxxas and send them the old one or go to a authorized exchange dealer, look on their website, and they will give you the credit right then and there. I believe we sell the 3.3 on exchange for like 130.00 USD, I think the 2.5R is 110.00 USD, so keep that in mind, the process of rebuilding and cost associated with it are almost out weighed by the fact that you get a new carb, bearings, block, head button, and head along with new con rod, shaft, piston and sleeve. I believe my store is a bit cheaper for piston and sleeve, but with all of the items you need, maybe 75-95 USD, you do the math. A new carb is like 65USD. They made it pretty easy to just wear them out and exchange them on new ones, that is what I would do if I were you. Then you can convert your 2.5R to a 3.3 and go faster.
