Model Kit
What brand of paint is best for an anime model kit made out of resin?

I want to buy a model kit because I am so bored lately. What kind of paint (brand and type) should I get to paint resin models? Also what else will I need to assemble it? Thanks!!!

Resin kits need a primer that grips to the surface. I use Tamiya gray primer. It does the job without getting “fuzzy” like some others will. If it’s too expensive you can use Duplicolor sandable primer too, avail. at an auto parts store. After you’ve primered, you can use any paint you want. Personally I airbrush Tamiya acrylics. If you don’t have an airbrush you can use Tamiya’s rattle cans or Testors. If there are any decals remember that they need a gloss surface to sit on.

As for assembly, use CA(super glue). Use a quality glue like Zap a Gap as they are not all the same. If you need to fill seams, gaps, etc I use Bondo spot putty(again auto parts store). Apply, let dry outside(try not to breathe it much). Wet sand with wet/dry sandpaper(dust is harmful). If you need any other advice come on over to www.starshipmodeler.net and join the forum. Lots of helpful guys over there. Have fun and take your time.
